Buyers Looking For Energy Efficiency
Author: Lucas Jones

Since 2006 has seen energy costs increase drastically in Cleveland, it comes as no surprise that new home buyers are looking for energy efficient homes.  This might not have been a major issue except that now is an extreme buyers market, especially in Columbus.  Buyers are getting what they want.  Now, they want energy efficient homes.  With the great number of homes listed on the market, they are getting their choice and those energy efficient homes available are attractive to potential buyers.  Home builders are now aware of this trend and are trying to accommodate their building plans with energy efficiency in mind.

Some of the upgrades that home buyers are asking for this year in Cincinnati are not all that strange except for the large demand for such thiings this year.  People are asking for extra insulation, tank-less water heaters, double-pane window glass and energy efficient appliances.  People are actually willing to spend $4-5,000 dollars more for increased energy efficiency.  Architects are looking at ways to incorporate these things into new projects.  Hopefully solar energy systems get popular soon.
